At The Dental Practice, we have a huge base of nervous patients who come from as far afield as Europe and Ireland and as close as across the road, all due to our completely patient-focused approach. We take the time to listen to your fears and concerns and then discuss and decide how we are going to go about treating you in a way that will be comfortable and cause you as little stress as possible.
Book an appointment
Please let us know beforehand that you are apprehensive about visiting. You can do this when calling, by writing to us or sending us an email. We will then make sure that the time allocated to your appointment ensures that you will not feel rushed, and have the opportunity to relay any fears or concerns.
Your first appointment will start with a chat away from the chair. We can only alleviate your fears if we know about them. Be sure to inform us of the most minor of concerns even if you think they may be irrational or ‘stupid’. Please put it in writing if you feel you cannot do this verbally or are afraid you might forget something.
For our particularly anxious patients, we offer dental sedation to enable you to access the treatment you need. Sedation is a completely safe procedure and helps you feel drowsy and relaxed, largely unaware of the treatment you are having. You remain awake throughout, able to communicate with your dentist, but unaware of your treatment and will remember little, if any, of the experience.
Our sedationists are fully qualified, highly skilled and take great care. You are in safe hands.
